Islander Dual-Time Automatic Dive Watch with AR Double Dome Sapphire Crystal, and Luminous Ceramic Bezel Insert #ISL-31

I've owned the Island Watch #ISL-31 for several weeks now and remain as excited as when I unboxed it. When I ordered it I was concerned about the overall size and especially the advertised thickness. In reality, the watch sits comfortably on my 7 1/2" wrist and doesn't appear nearly as tall as advertised. The case shape has a lot to do with that. It looks sleek and not chunky. The O-style bracelet is excellent and I only needed to remove 2 links. That was easy due to the screws. The blue looks brighter and more "alive" in person. It has attracted a lot of favorable comments. Everything about the watch is as good as or better than I expected. I am a fan of coin-edge bezels and this one really sparkles. The lume is better than any of my other watches. Before this, I only looked at my watch to tell the time. I find myself glancing at this one frequently throughout the day just to admire the looks. I can't recommend this watch highly enough!

I've had my ISL-31 for a few weeks now and the excitement hasn't waned. I mentioned the sleekness of the watch in my initial review but I think it bears repeating. When I read the specifications for the watch, I was a bit concerned about the advertised thickness of 16.5mm. I was afraid the watch would sit too high on my wrist. Just want to report that my fears were unfounded. The profile of the watch and the way it wears give it a "perceived thickness" of just over 11mm on my wrist. I don't count the domed sapphire crystal, and others won't either. The watch case has an elegant bevel on the edge that I think helps it to look slimmer than other watches that have flat sides such as the Samurai. So if you are concerned about 16.5mm being too thick, you needn't be.

Fantastic watch regardless of the price. Beautiful blue dial and gorgeous bezel. Case and bracelet really nice too. Love it. Nothing cheap about this affordable timepiece. My first islander but probably not my last!

This watch has a lovely blue dial . It's well-executed and soludly built. Original price was more than fair, but the sale price was extraordinary. Great service as always from Long Island Watch.

I had heard all about the exceptional service at LIW, but now I have first-hand experience. First, I had a technical question which was answered promptly by Marc himself. I placed my order for ISL-31 early enough in the day for it to make it out to USPS. I was immediately given a tracking number link to the USPS website. All I had to do was make one click and it told me exactly what the status of my shipment was. I elected to be alerted when the watch arrived at stopping points along the way. The anticipation was awesome. Even with the holiday, the watch got to me in 3 days. I call that outstanding. And the watch itself is everything I expected and more. I have a 7 1/2" wrist and this watch literally fits me perfectly. It is a hefty watch yet so comfortable. It just wraps around the wrist perfectly. No pressure points, nothing. And the dial? Those that say pictures don't do it justice are right. They don't. It pops! Also, don't let the advertised thickness bother you. Some of that is the sapphire crystal and some is the case back, which is domed. The profile of the watch is much sleeker than I expected. I wanted a watch that didn't look like everyone else's and this one doesn't. Finally, the crown is robust, very easy to unscrew and the setting functions crisp. I waited for some time to get this piece. One reason or another I delayed. My biggest question to myself is... WHY? This watch is absolutely phenomenal. The photos do not do it justice at all. Comfortable wear, outstanding looks... this one will get a tremendous amount of wrist time...

This watch is excellent and looks even better in person then is does in pictures. The blue dial just pops in the sunlight. Why would you ever buy a Turtle when something like this exists?

I love this watch. The dial has a rich bright blue color and the ceramic bezel insert gives it a very attractive wet black color. I would rather buy an islander than most Seiko watches because islander watcher are made with better materials at half the price.

I own a couple Seiko dive watches, a Bulova, a Citizen, I even bought a few top of the line” homage watches and the Islander 31 is my nicest watch. The finish is as nice as all of them, the movement is more accurate than all the others. Has not lost a whole minute since December when I got it, which comes out to LESS than half second per day. The bezel turns easier than my skx if I had to name a fault. I’d like it tighter. The lume is almost on par with my new seiko, better than all others. The band is better than all of them. I don’t care for the gmt bezel insert so I’m going to order a dive insert. Can’t say enough good things. Planning on another soon. Oh and I love that the AR coating isn’t obnoxious blue like all the other import homages. It’s clear or subtle blue. Very beautiful.
